Abstract
The advancement of visual information for human interpretation, as well as the processing of image data for storage, transmission, and
representation for autonomous machine perception, have sparked interest in digital image processing systems. The goals of this article are to
describe image processing, discuss the many procedures and methodologies involved in a typical image processing, and discuss applications of
image processing tools and processes in frontier areas of research.
