Publication Ethics and Malpractice Statement

1. Ethical Standards
Turkish Journal of Computer and Mathematics Education (TURCOMAT) is committed to maintaining the highest standards of publication ethics and follows internationally recognized guidelines, including the principles of the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE).
All parties involved in the publication process—authors, editors, reviewers, and the publisher—are expected to adhere to ethical behavior and academic integrity.
2. Duties of Authors
- Submit original, unpublished work and ensure the manuscript is not under consideration elsewhere.
- Present accurate data and provide sufficient detail to enable reproducibility.
- Avoid plagiarism, data fabrication, and falsification.
- Properly acknowledge all sources and contributions.
- Disclose any conflicts of interest or financial support.
- Correct significant errors in published work when identified.
3. Duties of Editors
- Ensure fair, unbiased, and confidential peer-review processes.
- Evaluate submissions solely on academic merit, relevance, and originality.
- Maintain confidentiality of submitted manuscripts.
- Take appropriate action in cases of ethical misconduct, including rejection or retraction.
4. Duties of Reviewers
- Provide objective, constructive, and timely evaluations.
- Maintain confidentiality of the manuscript under review.
- Identify relevant published work not cited by the authors.
- Report any suspected ethical issues such as plagiarism or data manipulation.
5. Publication Misconduct
The journal takes all forms of publication malpractice seriously, including plagiarism, duplicate submission, data fabrication, falsification, and improper authorship attribution.
In cases of confirmed misconduct, the journal reserves the right to reject manuscripts, request corrections, issue retractions, and notify relevant institutions.
6. Conflict of Interest
All authors, reviewers, and editors must disclose any financial or personal relationships that could influence the research or its evaluation.
7. Open Access and Licensing
All published articles in Turkish Journal of Computer and Mathematics Education (TURCOMAT) are freely accessible under an open-access model, supporting global knowledge dissemination and academic transparency.
