At Turkish Journal of Computer and Mathematics Education (TURCOMAT) Journal, we are committed to ensuring that high-quality research is accessible to the widest possible audience. To cover the costs of publication and ensure that all accepted articles are published with free and universal access, we charge an Article Processing Charge (APC). This APC policy outlines the principles, procedures, and criteria for APCs in our journal.

APC For Funded Articles: The standard APC for publishing an article in TURCOMAT is 1295 USD. This fee covers the costs associated with editorial processes, peer review management, typesetting, online hosting, and archiving.

APC FOR NON-FUNDED ARTICLES: 500 USD

  1. Editorial and Peer Review Management:
  • Coordinating the double-blind peer review process.
  • Managing submissions, revisions, and editorial decisions.
  • Ensuring adherence to ethical standards and COPE guidelines.
  1. Production Costs:
  • Typesetting, formatting, and layout of the manuscripts.
  • High-quality figure and image preparation.
  • Proofreading and quality control to ensure error-free publications.
  1. Open Access Hosting and Archiving:
  • Maintaining the journal’s online platform for immediate and free access to articles.
  • Digital preservation through services like CLOCKSS and Portico to ensure long-term accessibility.
  1. Technical Infrastructure:
  • Developing and maintaining the online submission and review system.
  • Implementing plagiarism detection software.
  • Ensuring website security and usability.
  1. Marketing and Promotion:
  • Promoting published articles to enhance visibility and impact.
  • Indexing and abstracting services to ensure inclusion in major databases.

Voluntary Contribution Details

  • Amount: Authors of funded articles can choose the amount they wish to contribute voluntarily.
  • Usage: Contributions support editorial processes, production, technical infrastructure, hosting, and journal promotion.
  • Transparency: Contributors receive a detailed statement on how their contributions support journal operations.

Waiver Policy

Since TURCOMAT charge mandatory APCs:

  • Researchers worldwide can publish in the journal with limited financial barriers.

  • Active participation in initiatives like Research4Life (HINARI) to ensure access in low-income countries.
