Abstract

Image demosaicing is the process of reconstruction of full color image on the basis of various methods from the data samples obtained by acquisition devices. This paper deals with the various techniques that can be utilized to achieve demosaiced image by suitably classifying it into various categories. Moreover, it also provides an insight into the evaluation metrics used for confirming the performance of demosaicing techniques. Besides, the potential areas are also investigated for realistic applications where image demosaicing is found to be highly beneficial for healthcare and forensics.
