The effect of self-awareness and personal responsibility on life satisfaction of seminary students in Malang

Abstract
This study investigated the effect of self-awareness and personal responsibility on life satisfaction. It
also investigated whether self-awareness, personal responsibility, and life satisfaction vary according to the year of study. The respondents were 36 students at the Seminary of Surya Wacana in Malang. The Self- Consciousness Scale, Personal Responsibility Scale, and Satisfaction with Life Scale were used for data collection. The results of the multiple regression have a significance p<0,05 which explains there was an effect of self-awareness and personal responsibility simultaneously on the life satisfaction of students at Seminary of Surya Wacana in Malang. The result of the regression test separately showed that self-awareness has a significant influence on life satisfaction, while personal responsibility has no significant effect on life satisfaction. In addition, the results showed that students do not vary according to year of study in terms of self awareness (F = 1.217; p > .05), personal responsibility (F = .980; p > .05), or life satisfaction (F = .631; p >
.05).
