Analysis Of The M/G/1 Queue With Setup Costs In Fuzzy Environments Using Parametric Nonlinear Programming
Main Article Content
Abstract
Queueing models are used to model various real-life situations and finds various applications in engineering and the sciences. To account for the inherent imprecision in real world data, one resorts to fuzzy set theoretic methods, which are extremely versatile. In this paper, we analyze the M/G/1 queueing system with setup costs in fuzzy environments. A solution procedure is proposed to achieve the primary goal of determining the fuzzy performance measures of the system. The problem is reduced effectively to the problem of determining the solutions to a pair of parametric nonlinear programs. The graded mean integration scheme is also used for defuzzification of the fuzzy characteristics. An example is presented to illustrate the proposed solution procedure.
