Review Process

The Turkish Journal of Computer and Mathematics Education (TURCOMAT) adheres to a rigorous double-blind peer review process to ensure the quality and integrity of the research published in our journal. This process is designed to maintain the anonymity of both the authors and reviewers, thereby fostering an unbiased and objective review of the submitted manuscripts.

Steps in the Double-Blind Peer Review Process:

  1. Initial Manuscript Submission:
    • Authors submit their manuscripts through the journal's online submission system.
    • Authors are required to remove any identifying information from the manuscript, including names, affiliations, and acknowledgments.
  2. Preliminary Editorial Review:
    • Upon submission, the manuscript undergoes an initial screening by the editorial team to ensure that it aligns with the journal's scope and meets basic quality standards.
    • Manuscripts that do not meet the criteria are returned to the authors with feedback.
  3. Reviewer Selection:
    • Suitable experts in the field are carefully selected by the editor-in-chief or associate editors to review the manuscript.
    • Reviewers are chosen based on their expertise, impartiality, and availability.
  4. Anonymization of Manuscripts:
    • The editorial team ensures that the manuscript is fully anonymized before it is sent to the reviewers.
    • The identity of the authors is concealed from the reviewers, and vice versa.
  5. Review Process:
    • Reviewers evaluate the manuscript based on various criteria, including originality, methodology, clarity, and contribution to the field.
    • Reviewers provide detailed feedback and recommend one of the following actions: accept, minor revision, major revision, or reject.
  6. Editorial Decision:
    • The editor-in-chief or associate editors make the final decision based on the reviewers’ recommendations.
    • The decision is communicated to the authors, along with the reviewers’ comments and any required revisions.
  7. Revisions (if applicable):
    • Authors revise the manuscript according to the feedback provided and resubmit it for further review or final approval.
    • The revised manuscript may undergo additional rounds of review if necessary.
  8. Final Acceptance and Publication:
    • Once the manuscript is accepted, it proceeds to the production stage, where it is prepared for publication.
    • The final version of the manuscript is published in the upcoming issue of TURCOMAT.
